Defender Marcelo Arango
Marcelo Arango

Marcelo definitely has that championship feeling as his teams have won wherever he has played.

The 28-year-old native of Medellin, Colombia played for Newtown High School, capturing the New York City championship in 1996. It was on to Long Island University in Brooklyn and a Northeast Conference championship in 1998. Arango won a national championship with the Long Island Rough Riders in 2002, a squad coached by Paul Riley, the Academy's head coach.

Marcelo says that "every time you win a final, the feeling is unforgettable."
