Midfielder Derek Reid

"Derek is experienced and knowledgeable. He plays the game in a simple, no- frills manner and very rarely makes a mistake. He has very good
communication skills," commented Long Island Academy head coach Paul Riley.

The 26-year-old native of Scotland grew up playing for Grahamston United and Gairdoch United, winning the Scottish Cup in 1997 at the age of 16.

His best moment on a soccer field came "playing against England in a
national team game."

The graduate of Berry College in Georgia likes to skydive when he's not on a soccer field.
